DynRisk is a tool for doing probabilistic risk analysis. Key application areas are:
・ Cost and Schedule Risks
・ Hazard analysis
・ Reliability analysis
・ Financial risks
・ Insurance
The program offers powerful modeling capabilities, and is based on influence diagrams and Monte Carlo simulation. Even large, complex models integrating many different types of risks can be built and analyzed very fast.
DynRisk is developed by TerraMar Information Systems with contributions from Department of Mathematics at the University of Oslo. It is a result of more than 15 years of practical experience in the field of risk management combined with state-of-the-art methods in mathematical statistics and probability theory. TerraMar is the leading project risk management consultancy company in Scandinavia, with clients such as ABB, Amoco, Norsk Hydro, Shell, Statoil, and many others.
Cool Features
DynRisk has a lot of cool features making it an efficient and fun tool to use:
・ Drag and drop icon and folder interface similar to the Finder.
・ Extend models by linking to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, HyperCard, or AppleScript Applets.
・ Automatic model documentation (RTF format or TEXT format)
・ Include graphics, sound and aliases anywhere in a model by dragging and dropping from the Finder.
・ Merge one model into another by dragging and dropping from the Finder.
・ Include historical data in models by using resampling.
System Requirements
To run DynRisk for Macintosh you need the following:
・ Macintosh (68K or PowerPC CPU)
・ System 7.1 or higher
・ At least 8 Mb RAM
・ At least 5 Mb free hard disk space
The DynRisk Package
Along with this ReadMe file you should find a demo version of DynRisk for Macintosh. The demo version is fully functional except that it does not allow you to save model files. You can, however, build models, run simulations and view the results just as in the full version.
Note that DynRisk for Macintosh is released in two versions: one for 68K CPU's (labled "DynRiskゥ") and one for Power Mac CPU's (labled "DynRiskェ"). Make sure that you have the right one for your CPU. The 68K version will run on both types of CPU. On a Power Mac, however, the native Power Mac version will provide superior performance.
DynRisk-Help
To get the most out of DynRisk, we strongly advice you to use the DynRisk-Help file. If you do not have this file, you can download it from the DynRisk Home Page. (See URL below). Place the DynRisk-Help file in the same folder as the DynRisk application, and open it by choosing the メHelpノモ command in the メWindowsモ menu.
You can also get assistance by switching on メBalloon helpモ, and move the cursor to menu items, buttons and text fields.
Finally, note that you can also download tutorials, example files from various areas, as well as other information about DynRisk from the DynRisk Home Page. This site is updated frequently, so log on from time to time.
